Civil servants in Singapore will receive a year-end Annual Variable Component (AVC) equivalent to 1.3 months’ salary, according to the Public Service Division (PSD). This announcement follows the earlier mid-year bonus, bringing the total variable portion for 2025 to 1.7 months of salary.
To further assist junior-grade officers, those in grades MX13(I) and below, as well as equivalent ranks, will receive a one-time payment of 700 Singapore dollars. This move is intended to help lower-wage public officers manage living costs and support their families during the holiday season.
The PSD noted that the 2025 bonus reflects Singapore’s stronger economic performance and productivity growth. The government emphasized that the payout also recognizes public officers’ contributions to serving citizens and maintaining efficient public services.
“The year-end bonus acknowledges our officers’ dedication and commitment in delivering quality public service,” said the PSD statement.
In 2024, civil servants received a 1.1-month year-end bonus. This year’s slightly higher payment shows continued confidence in Singapore’s economic resilience and the government’s appreciation for its workforce.
The next review of annual variable payments will take place in mid-2026, following the established practice of aligning bonuses with national performance indicators and fiscal conditions.
Author’s summary: Singapore’s civil servants will receive a 1.3-month year-end bonus plus extra support for lower-paid officers, reflecting economic recovery and appreciation of their service.
