Singapore Civil Servants to Receive 1.3 Months’ Year-End Bonus

Singapore’s civil servants will receive a year-end bonus equivalent to 1.3 months of their salary. Junior-grade employees will receive additional payments to support lower-income staff amid cost-of-living pressures.

Bonus Details

According to a statement from the Public Service Division (PSD) on Nov 30, the payments include:

This measure adds to the mid-year bonus of 0.45 month that was distributed earlier in 2025, bringing the total annual payout for most civil servants to 1.75 months, excluding the extra cash payment.

Government’s Rationale

The PSD noted that bonuses reflect economic growth and fiscal conditions. Singapore’s economy expanded by about 2.2 percent in 2025, with stable employment and moderate inflation, allowing the government to reward public officers while maintaining budget prudence.

“The Public Service acknowledges and appreciates officers’ continued dedication and service in delivering public outcomes for Singapore and Singaporeans,” the PSD said.

Support for Lower-Income Staff

Lower-wage officers will benefit more significantly from the flat S$700 payment, which is intended to strengthen inclusivity across the public sector. The increment helps offset living costs and complements national wage support initiatives.

Author’s summary: Singapore’s civil servants will receive a 1.3-month year-end bonus plus additional S$700 support for junior staff, reflecting steady growth and government recognition of employee efforts.
