Royal Mail has announced that residents in 25 postcode areas across the UK are facing delays in receiving mail because of local operational issues. The company cited staff shortages, high volumes of parcels, and weather-related disruptions as key reasons behind the slowdown.
According to the notice, deliveries are particularly affected in postcodes starting with AL, EN, HP, LU, SG, WD, DE, and NG areas. Other parts of the country might also experience sporadic disruptions depending on local conditions.
“We are sorry for any inconvenience and are working hard to get mail moving as quickly as possible,” a Royal Mail spokesperson said.
“Our teams are focused on restoring normal service in the affected areas.”
Royal Mail recommends that customers check their local service updates online before visiting delivery offices or waiting for delayed mail items. The company assures that essential correspondence and tracked parcels remain a top priority.
