Trump-backed Gallrein defeats Rep. Thomas Massie in GOP primary
Massie, who has served in Congress since 2012, fell into Trump's crosshairs in part by pushing for the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files and denouncing the war in Iran.

Kentucky contest featured as a costly House-era contest, and a test of the Trump grip within the party. Trump backed Gallrein publicly while Massie criticized Trump on some votes. Gallrein moves forward to the general election matchup in a strongly Republican district, facing Democrat Melissa Strange. Massie was first elected in 2012 and came under Trump's pressure in part by calling for Jeffrey Epstein file release and denouncing the war in Iran.
