The new Indie Film Hub at Pinewood Studios has distanced itself from the Independent Film & Television Commission (IFTC) pledge. This move follows its first production, Marc Forster’s Anxious People, which chose not to sign up to the IFTC agreement.
Anxious People was the inaugural project to film at the hub. Despite its association with a high-profile director and star, Angelina Jolie, the production did not commit to the IFTC guideline on indie filmmaking.
The decision highlights a divergence in the indie film sector's approach to industry standards and commitments represented by the IFTC. Pinewood’s hub seems to be exploring a different direction in supporting independent projects without binding them to existing pledges.
"The first project to shoot in the hub is Marc Forster's 'Anxious People', which did not use the IFTC."
Pinewood’s Indie Film Hub is redefining its role by moving away from the IFTC pledge after hosting Anxious People, signaling a shift in the independent film sector’s collaboration standards.
