Birmingham’s rail sector, city partners, and local passengers joined efforts to call for an end to male violence against women and girls as part of this year’s White Ribbon Day.
The campaign encourages men to make a personal promise to never commit, excuse, or remain silent about violence towards women. It aims to raise awareness and inspire positive change through everyday actions and public support.
Network Rail collaborated with local authorities and community groups to promote the message at stations across Birmingham. Together, they highlighted the importance of allyship and collective responsibility in building safer public spaces for everyone.
“Ending male violence against women is everyone’s responsibility,” stated a Network Rail representative during the campaign event. “We want to ensure our stations are places where all passengers feel safe and respected.”
Passengers were invited to take part in awareness activities and learn how small actions—such as calling out inappropriate behavior or supporting victims—can make a significant difference.
The White Ribbon Campaign is a global movement that engages men and boys in preventing gender-based violence. In the UK, White Ribbon Day is marked annually to promote respect, equality, and safety for women and girls.
